Rinoa

Owari - The End

You guys, this year is finally over. I'm typically not one to wish for anything to just be over but this year- I'm so glad it's over. It wasn't a bad year by any means, no no no. It was a great year! So many wonderful, amazing, thrilling, life changing, and awesome things happened this year. It was in fact, probably one of my fave (if not my fave) year of all time!

Here are a few highlights for me:

First thing I did was release a super cute knitting cowl pattern~ Etna.

Aaron and I went to Osaka Japan for my birthday and and saw my fave Japanese wrestler live:

We found out we were having a baby!

I have enjoyed my growing belly:

Released another cowl pattern~ Mina:

Aaron and I celebrated our 12th anniversary and went to a Nine Inch Nails concert:

We found out we were going to have a baby boy in April:

And opened up an Etsy shop~ TheFoxShop:

Tons of things happened in between~ Rinoa turned 12, went to Bumbershoot Music Festival, worked a butt-ton, hosted lots of fun events at the store, got a bunch of knitting done... I mean it's been a great and full year! 2014 has a lot in store for us, and I'm excited to welcome and embrace it all.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to every single reader~ Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog. Thank you for taking time and leaving me comments. Your words and thoughts are super encouraging to me and I love reading them. ♥

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Christmas Kitty

The past few years I have picked up little holiday outfits for Rinoa.  This year I snagged her a Christmas tree dress.

It's a bit small for her, so it's more a vest than a dress.  She's so happy about wearing it, she's scratching the couch in front of me out of spite.

Last year Rinoa got this pretty outfit.  Doesn't she just look THRILLED?! Haha!

Maaaaa~ please take this ridiculous thing off me. Noooow~ hmph!

There is actually one thing she's cool with~ this little collar and bell~

It's so wonderful and festive, until bed time when she's doing her nightly rounds and she just jingles the entire time... Not so enjoyable then. It's just a day time collar.

Tonight I got feisty and put on a little mini cowl I made on her.

Doesn't she look lovely?  It makes her mane fluff up and she looks kinda like a lion.  She looks all snuggly and warm~ ready for a white Christmas and a visit from Santa.  Let me tell you, she's ecstatic for Santa to come!  Her stocking is hung and ready for goodies!

Rinoa's 12th Birthday

October 16th was Rinoa's big day. We had to work all day, but when we got home we were able to spoil her rotten.

She has her own spot in every room in our house but the computer room, so she lets us know how left out she feels constantly lol. We decided to fix that by getting her a super cool toy for right next to my computer. Rinoa immediately took to this new one and purred with joy while on it.

We also picked her up a new mouse-on-a-stick toy which we keep hanging off the couch- which she also loves. I'm constantly finding her sitting underneath it hehe!

She's such a goo kitty and I'm so lucky to have her in my life. <3<3<3

My Silly Kitty

Rinoa is such a silly kitty. She's taken to snuggling up in my armpit when we go to bed, nesting in my blanket while I'm on the couch, and hanging under the blanket with me and Aaron and we're sitting over the vent with the heat on. It's been pretty uncharacteristic of her, but I love it so much!

She is turning 11 years old this year, I can hardly believe it. This last year with her has been one of the best- she has purred, kneaded, and snuggled more than she ever has. She's been doing it especially more since we came back from Japan. (Speaking of Japan, I need to post pictures about that. Someday I'm sure I'll get around to it...)

"Meow!" =*^-^*=

Having a happy kitty around has been a blessing. We have been so busy at the store and having her sweet affection to greet me when I get home has been nothing short of a wonderful wonderful blessing.

I feel like I say "we've been so busy at the store" constantly. It's a true statement every time I say it though. We work really hard, and it's paying off. Our store tripled in size over the course of last year, and the expanding hasn't stopped yet. It's incredibly encouraging, especially since we celebrate the store's two year anniversary on May 9th. They say that the hardest part of starting a business is surviving the first two years, so yay!

Working in retail, as everyone knows, can be hard so I can't tell you how much it means to me to have Rinoa in my life. She waits in the front window every night for us to get home, when we open the screen door she'll meow at us. Once inside she plays this fun game of wanting us to follow her around and then wanting us to leave her alone. She's such a cat (lol!) but it's a game I look forward to playing every night.

Well, maybe not every night. It's already two hours past when I'm normally home and I won't be leaving the store for at least another hour (yay for 14 hour days). Someone doesn't like it when we're gone for so long. I'll give her some extra treats when I get home to spoil her. *^_^*

This post was inspired by Carina of Lovely Little Whimsy and her series of posts about what she's thankful for. (On a side note, if you haven't seen her blog before definitely check it out! She's one of the bloggers who inspires me the most. Her adoption stories are so moving! So much so I've purchased two necklaces from her shop to help with the costs, and I wear one almost every single day. Please check out her blog and her shop!)

It's late so I'm going to take off. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Lemon Ginger Biscuits

Happy Monday morning everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was a mixture of busy and chill. Over-thinking and letting go. Snuggles and kisses. Watching wrestling and movies. Minecraft and Weiss Schwarz. Pizza and beer. Tea and biscuits.

We're leaning towards vegan (mostly vegetarian) lately, I've been making more food at home and we're totally loving it. One of my fave new recipes is one I made up on a whim and loved~ lemon ginger biscuits.

These are so crazy simple and have only five ingredients. Since I eyeball the amounts of each this is going to be a bit vague:

■ Bisquick
■ Almond Milk
■ powder ginger
■ lemon juice
■ sugar

Preheat oven to 350*. Follow directions on package to make drop biscuits (if I'm not making a full batch of biscuits, I'll just mix enough Bisquick and milk so it's dense and sticky). Add a good amount of both ginger and lemon to taste. I like mine a bit strong so I add quite a lot of both. Spoon batter onto a baking pan. Sprinkle Dump a bunch of sugar on top of each biscuit. Bake for about 15 mins until slightly golden. Enjoy with a cup of tea, snuggled on the couch with a blanket, a book, and cat.

Rinoa really really wanted to try a bite of these (she totally got a few good licks of sugar off one of the biscuits). (I had to be mean and eat them all myself since almond milk is toxic to cats.) She was joining me on the couch while I was drinking tea and reading. It was a great morning! *^_^*

Do you have a favorite type of biscuit-y snack you like to make?

Silly RINOA Kitty Cat!

I have been snapping a bunch of pictures of my cat, Rinoa, lately and thought I would share them.

She get embarrassed easily, likes to be fawned over from a far, most of the time doesn't like to snuggle, loves all my guy friends (to the point that she ignores me when we have friends over), but after everyone's gone she'll lay down against my legs to let me know she loves me.

She is my official overseer of all things crafty- she like to sit/lay down someplace where she has a good vantage point to watch me.

She's good sport with my goofy playing and snuggling with her.

She turns nine next month.

My friends say she has a "kit-ler stache" but let's me honest, it's only half. xD
