My Baby Bump

My body has been changing quite a bit over the last three months. The baby bump is growing, my center of gravity has moved, and all of my pants have built in stretchy bands. (I'm pretty sure I've felt my baby poke me on more than one occasion the past few mornings.)

Maneuvering around is starting to become difficult. More and more I find myself thinking of this puppy:

It makes me laugh because I know I'm just going to get bigger and feel ever more like him. Whenever I struggle though, Aaron is there to help me up (often before I even know I need help). ♥ I do a lot of rolling and a bit of grunting whenever I get up.

Since I haven't blogged too much this year, I thought I would do a quick picture post to show you how much I've grown.

~Week 17 - Today (Sharo Cowl pattern can be found here).

My little sister gave me a bunch of hand-me-ups, which I have been wearing a lot of lately. I'm feeling great, have a good amount of energy and confidence. Eating well is a super high priority for me, and Aaron is such a great helper! I hardly ever know what I want to eat, so he comes up with lots of yummy and healthy things. It's great!

The baby is slightly over 5 inches long or about the size of an onion right now, crazy! In just a couple weeks we get to find out what we're having! We're both so excited! Names for both sexes have been picked out, so we'll announce the name when we find out the gender.

We don't have a preference on what we're having. It would be wonderful to name my little girl after my grandma that passed away recently. Girls out number boys in both our families, so I would be cool to have a little boy. I've been told that chill pregnancies (like the one I'm having) mean you're having a girl, but then my sister-in-law had a super rough pregnancy and had a girl. So I just don't know, haha! Should we start a little pole? Want to throw out a guess for what I'm having?

NEW PATTERN ALERT: MINA COWL

Here is my latest knitted cowl pattern: Mina.

It's a two toned cowl mixed with multiple textures to create a fun and unique (and snuggly) look. It's knit flat, on straight needles, then sewn together to create the cowl.

You can check the pattern out here, here, or here. Let me know what you think!

What's up!?

Finding my "voice" in writing is something I've always struggled with. It's probably why I haven't written much lately. Well that's one reason. The baby is probably another reason... haha! One thing my fave bloggers Gina said, that has resonated with me: just write.

So here I am just writing. My last serious blog post was in May, and a lot of has happened since then. Obviously.

Firstly, business for video game stores like Game Stop (and other games stores I've worked at) slows down during the summer time~ this wasn't the case for us. Each month this year has steadily been better than the last and summer vacation didn't stop people from spending money at our store. This was a welcome opportunity for us: we hosted a customers birthday party, held very successful game tournaments, and expanded our store more than we had expected. We haven't slowed down.

(Well actually, that's not entirely true... the last two weeks have been uncharacteristically slow compared to previous years. We blame either Grand Theft Auto V, Pokemon, of the government shutdown. It's probably mostly Pokemon's fault.)

But that's besides the point. The point is we are doing well. Very well in fact! We are happy, healthy. We can pay bills, place new orders for merchandise, and still have a teeny bit of fun money.

We even had the chance to close the store for Labor Day and head to Seattle for the Bumbershoot Festival. We stayed up wayyyyy too late the night before so we actually all napped during the MGMT concert lol! The baby didn't mind all the music and excitement one bit. The Baroness and Deer Hunter concerts were incredible.

Speaking of the baby! It's 4 1/2 inches (about the size of an avocado) and can hear me talking. I can't say for sure I've felt the baby yet, as I've had a slight rumbly tumbly so I could have only been feeling gas haha!

This picture shows up my baby bump the best, I think. I'm 16 weeks along, and everything is going smoothly. *knock on wood* We've decided to go with a midwife, instead of an OBGYN. Her name is Kristin and she's been awesome. Aaron and I are both super comfortable around her and have zero worries about having a home birth. I can do it!

This pregnancy has been easy going, short of one bad day where I fainted. It isn't anything to worry about, I just learned I need to eat more protein. So yay for bacon and eggs each morning for breakfast!! Mid November is when we find out what we're having and we're starting to get antsy about it. I really want to know if there's a little boy or little girl in there. *^___^*

While baby is somewhat distracting, I want to have (and keep) a goal of writing more frequently. I've been knitting again, so I want to post a bunch about that. There's even a new pattern to release super soon!

With that, I'm going to head out. ♥♥♥

Rinoa's 12th Birthday

October 16th was Rinoa's big day. We had to work all day, but when we got home we were able to spoil her rotten.

She has her own spot in every room in our house but the computer room, so she lets us know how left out she feels constantly lol. We decided to fix that by getting her a super cool toy for right next to my computer. Rinoa immediately took to this new one and purred with joy while on it.

We also picked her up a new mouse-on-a-stick toy which we keep hanging off the couch- which she also loves. I'm constantly finding her sitting underneath it hehe!

She's such a goo kitty and I'm so lucky to have her in my life. <3<3<3
