My Day Is Made Thanks to NASA

When I was little, I used to pour over all my Dad's astronomy books. Anything with pictures of stars/planets/space that I could get my hands on I wanted to see it. My little head tried to fathom just how large our universe was, how far away Mars was from us, and that our galaxy wasn't the end of space. Throughout elementary school and middle school, I did countless reports and projects on space and planets.

Now that I'm grown up, I still have that same love and passion for space. So much so that I trade off reading fiction and non-fiction that is either space or physics oriented. I'm very dedicated to it.

That being said, I have been following Mars Curiosity rover pretty closely. So much, in fact, that this "trailer" of the landing almost brought me to tears. I'm such a sap, I know.

This morning, I saw that there was a Google Hangout with part of the NASA team and they wanted user questions, so I just HAD to join. To be honest, I thought really hard about what question I wanted to ask. I might have even fretted slightly about it. Only slightly. Anyways! My question was the first fan question they asked and answered! I just about died! While I was helping a customer I heard my name and my question being asked. I may have flipped out a bit. And then was incredibly embarrassed and blushed profusely. My cheeks were hurting my smiling so much. My stomach is still in knots about it.

While I totally recommend you watching the entire video, if you fast forward to 7:19 you'll see my question and the awesome answer they gave.

I'm so excited!

Back to work with me now. I hope everyone is having a lovely and just plain awesome Friday!
